I was singing the praises of ShamWows last night, because after trying multiple things to clean the floors of the kitchen, dining room, great room, and side entry hall, I grabbed a ShamWow in desperation and got down on my hands and knees. Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit, because the ShamWow and water did what no other cleaning combination would do, which is clean off the spots, footprints, dust, and dirt. The hands-and-knees thing killed my back, but the house was ready to show this morning when the real estate agent came with a looker (potential buyer?). When I bought the box of ShamWows, I tried to sneak them out of the store in a plain brown wrapper so that no one would see I fell victim to television infomercials. But, you know what? Those little boogers work exactly as Vince-I-can't-do-this-all-day said; they wipe without leaving streaks, they soak up their weight in water (and dirt), and they go right into the washer and come out looking brand new.
I'm now officially pimping for Vince, the ShamWow guy on television. I'm also starting a ShamWow therapy group, so if you can't bring yourself to buy something that has "As Seen on TV!!!!" emblazoned in neon yellow on a bright blue and purple box, come on down. I'll cure you. Trust me, you'll be a believer, too.
Update, 2/13/2013: Recently our RV started springing a few leaks during the frequent south-wind-and-torrential-rain storms we are enduring while we're acting as park hosts in an RV park on the Texas Gulf Coast. After trying to stop the indoor flooding with towels, sheets, and anything else we could find to use, those lovely blue and gold miracle cloths came to mind. I ran to the kitchen, grabbed all of our ShamWows, gave half of them to Wayne, and we started using them to staunch the flow of the incoming water. Magic! Not only did the ShamWows do a far better job of soaking up the water, but they also kept on working after the rain stopped. We used them to soak up water from the carpet (you should have seen the wild stomping and dancing going on as we used our feet and the ShamWows to remove the excess water).
ShamWows. They work. Really.
